Feature: Fort McMurray Today

The word got out about the 2nd Annual Ride North Moto taking place in January 2019.

Just as the new year starts, local motorcyclists will be heading north across the frozen winter road for the second year in a row, to raise awareness and money for charity.

On Jan. 11, the riders will head out of Fort McMurray, riding to Fort Chipewyn where they will spend a night, before heading to Fort Smith, N.W.T., and then back to Fort McMurray on Jan. 13.

The journey will take them over 400 km of road. Along the winter road, there are rarely any road patrols and no service stations. Cellular reception is nonexistent…
